Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

ParentLINK is a school management and parent engagement platform operated by JedRey IT Solutions, Sariaya, Quezon, Philippines ("we", "us"). This policy explains how personal data is collected, used, and protected when schools and families use ParentLINK.

2. Roles under the Data Privacy Act

We process personal data in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173) and its implementing rules. The subscribing school is the personal information controller of student and family records; JedRey IT Solutions acts as the personal information processor, handling data only on the school's documented instructions.

3. Data we process

• Student records provided by the school: name, section, grades, attendance, fee statements.
• Parent/guardian account data: name, relationship to student, email, mobile number.
• Teacher and staff account data: name, role, school email.
• Communications: announcements, messages, and homework posted through the platform.
• Technical data: device type, app version, and log data needed to operate the service.

4. How data is used

Data is used solely to deliver the platform's features: publishing grades and attendance to the correct family, delivering announcements and alerts, enabling teacher–parent messaging, and issuing fee statements. We do not sell personal data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except sub-processors needed to run the service (e.g. cloud hosting), each bound by data protection agreements.

5. Access controls

Access is scoped per family: a parent account can only view records of the student(s) the school has linked it to. Teachers see only their own classes; school administrators manage records for their school only.

6. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We maintain role-based access controls, audit logs, and regular backups. Security incidents affecting personal data are reported to the school and, where required, to the National Privacy Commission within the periods prescribed by law.

7. Retention and deletion

Data is retained for the duration of the school's subscription. Upon termination, the school receives a full export, after which data is permanently deleted from our systems within 60 days, except where retention is required by law.

8. Your rights

Data subjects have the rights granted by RA 10173, including access, correction, objection, and erasure. Parents and teachers should direct requests to their school's registrar or data protection officer; we support schools in fulfilling these requests. See how to request deletion for the exact steps.
